A recent study of crash reports in all 50 states over the last five years has named two stretches of roads in Florida in the top ten list of the most deadly areas, according to Maxim Lott of the Fox News website. Lott reports that FOXNews.com analyzed the crash report data to determine the deadliest stretches of roadway in the nation based on those that had the highest number of fatal accidents. Although eight of the ten areas were in Western states, Florida claimed two of the spots. Ranking as the seventh deadliest stretch of roadway is I-95 in Palm Beach County, Florida, with 131 deaths over the last five years. Number ten on the list is U.S. 1 in Miami-Dade County, Florida, which was the only road on the list that is not an interstate, with 102 fatalities from auto accidents.
As a result of the study, we hope to see improvements and efforts made to ensure safety on these Florida roadways. As a personal injury lawyer who handles car accident cases and wrongful death cases in Dade and Palm Beach counties, David Benenfeld has seen far too many injuries and fatalities as a result of traffic accidents.
