A 9-year-old boy was seriously injured in a recent hit-and-run accident in Miami, according to the Sun-Sentinel online. According to the article, the young boy was walking across Northwest Seventh Ave. at 65th street on Wednesday when the vehicle of 27-year-old Jose Miguel Cayetano struck the child. As of the time of the report, the boy was under medical care at Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was listed in serious condition. The hit-and-run driver reportedly slowed his car down following the crash, but proceeded to flee the auto accident scene. One day later, Cayetano went to a Miami police station to issue a statement that he, in fact, was the driver the car that struck the child. When asked why he fled the scene, he admitted to being on parole for another charge. The Miami resident now faces charges for leaving the scene of an accident involving injuries.
