Friends, family, and even strangers came together Saturday, February 7, to show support for a man from Jupiter, Florida, who sustained serious injuries in a January auto accident, according to the MSNBC website. The site reports that different schools met at Jupiter Lanes for a blood drive and charity bowl fundraiser for 20-year-old car accident victim Kyle Hilliker and his family. In the January 3rd accident, Hilliker suffered from a broken pelvis and lacerations to his arteries, resulting in the need for multiple blood transfusions. Due to his rare blood type, the whole community’s help was needed in order to get him closer to complete recovery. According to the site, the response of the community is making a difference: Kyle Hilliker is in rehabilitation and recovering.
